The classic cellulose membrane for passive diffusion studies
Based on a permeable regenerated cellulose hydrate, the PermeaPlain Barrier enables the efficient investigation of passive mass transfer of drugs*. Regardless of the substance's polarity, the diffusion of individual drugs through a membrane can be analyzed. This makes it particularly suitable for in vitro release testing (IVRT). Measurements with the barrier are simple, fast, and reproducible. Passive mass transport can be simulated using the PermeaPlain Barrier in a conventional vertical diffusion cell (e.g., Franz cell), side-by-side diffusion cell, or other setups.

What is the PermeaPlain Barrier suitable for?
The PermeaPlain Barrier is used to analyze passive mass transport in in vitro setups. It is particularly suitable for the early screening of potential drugs, regardless of their polarity.
Example applications:
🧫 In vitro release test (IVRT)
🧫 Simulation models in Franz and side-by-side cells
